Since 1962, more than 5 million visitors have enjoyed the beauty of our historic gardens and the contemporary gardens of the International Garden Festival. With its botanical collections, historic buildings, its site overlooking the St. Lawrence and Mitis rivers, the Gardens are a leader in Canada and abroad. The Gardens were declared a National Historic Site in 1995.
The Gardens provide employment to more than eighty local residents every year. Les Amis des Jardins de Métis does not receive an operating grant from the federal, provincial, regional or municipal government. Every year we must raise more than $375,000 in donations from visitors, members, friends, corporations and sponsors to preserve this unique garden and to meet our ongoing expenses.
Whatever we raise will be matched by the government of Québec’s Mécénat Placements Culture Program. Funds raised this year are earmarked for our special Conservation Fund to sustain our conservation initiatives and the Mitis River Park property. Please give generously.
If you wish to make a donation online, you can do so with your credit card.
