FALL RESIDENCY

Camille Paré-Poirier is originally from Quebec City. She studied acting at the Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe before moving to Montreal. Since 2016, she has been developing her practice through performance, documentaries and poetry. For her, these three tools of creation have in common their immense power of evocation, and allow in their own way to sublimate the daily life by approaching it with a new eye.

She is thrilled to be preparing to begin (finally!) the writing of her play, Je viendrai moins souvent, which will be rooted in more than fifty hours of recording with her grandmother Pauline. This archive, which spans from 2016 to 2021, reflects the evolution of a relationship between grandmother and granddaughter and the anticipation of an imminent and inevitable death. The show will feature two characters, Camille and Pauline: a young actress, who works in a restaurant waiting for something to happen, and her grandmother, who, in her room at the CHSLD, is waiting for nothing to happen.
