MAUDE BOUTIN ST-PIERRE

SPRING RESIDENCY

Maude Boutin St-Pierre has been navigating at the crossroads of several artistic disciplines since her graduation from the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Québec in 2018. She has made her mark in the cultural milieu as an actress and creator, through her involvement in the company Vénus à vélo, the feminist collective Les Reines and the multidisciplinary collective Les Bambines. Her creative process mixes theater, movement arts, sound arts, literary arts and the social sciences.

Her creative residency aims to deepen her writing practice through a second sound art project, which will result in a radio fiction: Le vacarme des fleurs. The writing of the project will be done in the manner of a poetic literary short story, intended to be listened to rather than read. How do you get a feel for a garden just by listening? What does daily contact with plants and flowers alter in humans who care for them? What can a garden teach us about life, death and everything in between?
